Flags off the Rohtak – Hansi – Rohtak New Train Service

Giving an impetus to rail infra in Haryana, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the Rohtak-Meham-Hansi 68.5 Km long New Rail Line worth Rs. 889.28 Crore to the Nation and flagged off the Rohtak- Hansi- Rohtak new train service through videoconferencing from Rewari today. The Rohtak-Meham-Hansi 68.5 Km New Rail project was sanctioned on cost cost-sharing basis with the State Government of Haryana on 50:50 contributions. The railway sector projects are aimed at modernizing rail infrastructure, enhancing safety measures, improving connectivity, and facilitating the movement of goods and people more efficiently.

     Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Hon'ble Governor of  Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Rao Inderjit Singh, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), for Statistics and Programme Implementation and Planning, Dr. Banwari Lal, Hon’ble Minister of Co-operation, Welfare of SC & OBC in the State of Haryana, Shri Dushyant  Chautala,  Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Nayab Singh and Shri Dhram Singh, Hon’ble MP/Lok Sabha, Shri Shobhan Choudhury, General Manager, Northern Railway and other local representatives were present at Rewari while Shri Krishan Pal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Power & Heavy Industry, Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble MP/Lok Sabha and Shri Sukhvinder Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division and other senior railway officials were present at Rohtak Railway Station function held simultaneously.

Speaking on the occasion, The Prime Minister said that the development of Haryana is necessary for the nation to become Viksit Bharat. Prime Minister Modi informed that the annual railway budget of Haryana which was around Rs 300 crores on average before 2014 has now been increased to Rs 3,000 crores in the last 10 years. He mentioned new railway lines for Rohtak-Meham-Hansi and Jind-Sonipat and the doubling of lines like Ambala Cantt-Dappar and said that it will enhance Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business while benefiting lakhs of people.

Rohtak and Hisar, two important towns and agriculture hubs of the state of Haryana, had earlier no direct rail connectivity. They were indirectly connected via Bhiwani through the Rohtak – Bhiwani & Bhiwani – Hansi - Hisar Railway line.  Dedication to the Nation of the Rohtak –Meham - Hansi New Railway line consisting 05 crossing stations having 141 Minor Bridges and 06 Major Bridges will benefit the Rohtak, Bhiwani and Hisar Districts of Haryana. This new railway line will provide direct access between Rohtak and Hisar & reduce the Rohtak - Hansi distance by almost 20 Km. New train services in this region will ensure seamless connectivity with the Indian Rail network and enhanced accessibility for residents and will be beneficial in boosting the industrial and agricultural development of this region. Stimulate economic growth by creating jobs in the related sectors, promote tourism, and enhance regional development.
